Jubany Events takes part in the premiere of Gènesi at the San Sebastián Film Festival – September 21

This weekend, we travelled to Donostia to be part of one of the city’s major cultural events: the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

This year, the festival also hosted the premiere of Gènesi, the new series by 3Cat, coming soon to Netflix, which brings the story of elBulli and the gastronomic revolution led by Ferran Adrià to the screen. Directed by David Pujol and starring Miquel Fernández as Ferran Adrià, the series looks back at the years when elBulli transformed the way gastronomy was understood and turned Catalonia into one of the world’s leading centres of avant-garde cuisine.

The premiere took place on September 21 at the Teatro Victoria Eugenia, with a screening of the first two episodes and the presence of members of the series’ team, as well as Ferran Adrià himself.

Nandu Jubany and the entire Jubany Events team were in charge of the catering for this very special occasion. Our gastronomic proposal also had a particularly meaningful connection to the project being presented that evening: almost two-thirds of the menu were prepared using techniques created at elBulli.

A great opportunity to bring our way of understanding gastronomy to an international event, share the stage with leading names from the worlds of cinema and culture and, at the same time, be part of a project that celebrates a legacy that has transformed gastronomy worldwide.
